Final CDDYHARFCS Update of 2007! Aren’t You Excited?!

Previously on the Christ Dude, Don’t You Have Any Real Friends? Championship Series, victories by Boston College and Texas Christian allowed the fray’s mortal party to take a one game lead in the CDDYHARFCS standings. It was a lead that, regardless of the outcomes of the remainder of Saturday’s games, Merrill Park Superstar would hang onto.

BOX SCORE

In a game that saw its two teams combine for 99 points, the most important play of the game was executed by a kicker — good news for Purdue, bad news for Central Michigan.

I Am, If Nothing Else, A Man of the People

Hope any and all readers had a safe, enjoyable holiday. Obviously, I took a holiday sabbatical — way earlier than was necessary, actually. Still, I’m back now, as we’re bearing down on the NFL playoffs, as well as some of the more prominent games in the college bowl season. And it’s the amateur game that will be the focus of this post, because I learned something new about my knowledge of the college game on Christmas Eve. It was, in fact, a modern-day Christmas miracle.

A New Headache for Kidd

jasonkidd.jpg

Finally some NBA news to break up the monotony of all the steroids talk! From the Daily News:

New Jersey Nets star Jason Kidd is once again in the wrong kind of court battle, now that a model is suing him for pawing her in a Manhattan nightclub.

The 23-year-old beauty, who is not identified in the suit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, says the hoops hotshot repeatedly grabbed her crotch and backside in an Oct. 10 visit to Tenjune, a Meatpacking District hotspot.

Also, Grizzlies center Pau Gasol will miss five games with a toe injury while Bulls forward Tyrus Thomas was suspended for a game for his scuffle with Indiana’s Troy Murphy.

But, to end on a somewhat happy note, Steve Nash is a funny guy, if not much of an impressionist:

Merrill Park Superstar: IT DOES OTHER THINGS

A big story is a big story, so yes, here is even more Mitchell Report-related information. This time it’s the fallout.

Since all of this Mitchell Report nonsense is starting to overtake the blog, I’m starting to feel obligated to write about something that isn’t baseball. If nothing else, you can look for a preview of this weekend’s North Carolina-Rutgers game since I’ll be in attendance for that one. Given the fact that I’ve seen portions of a single UNC game and not a single minute of Scarlet Knights basketball to this point in the season, that promises to provide some sound analysis.
