One late note regarding my pick in the Indians-Yankees game courtesy of the YES pre-game show. Apparently Joe Girardi’s game plan to combat the power sinker of Fausto Carmona is to try to get him to elevate his pitches — I imagine by making sure he can’t throw anything low in the zone, which will allow him to induce ground balls. How the hell Girardi thinks his team will be able to have any effect on this, at least in the very early innings, escapes me.
What a shitty manager.
