AFC Championship Game: San Diego Chargers (13-5-0) vs. New England Patriots (17-0-0), 4th Quarter

5:31 ET: Tom Brady finishes this drive, finding a wide-open Wes Welker for a 6-yard touchdown. A Stephen Gostkowski extra point makes it 21-12 Patriots with just over 12 minutes left to play.

Steve Tasker reports coming out of the locker room that LaDainian Tomlinson is “very doubtful” to return. So, let’s look at San Diego’s fortunes for the second half: They’re without their all-world running back. Their quarterback is battling through what may or may not be a torn MCL. Their Pro Bowl tight end is in and out of the game fighting a big toe injury. Also, they’re up against the 17-0 New England Patriots, who hold a 14-9 lead over them.
Other than that, everything is great for the AFC West Champs.

3:47 ET: Well, they picked up the first down. Laurence Maroney picked up about five yards to set up first-and-goal from about the 9.
3:49 ET: Maroney takes it in on the next play, and it’s 7-3 Patriots.

It’s been slow around here the past week, for which I apologize. I went on a couple job interviews, so I had less free time on my hands than usual. Hopefully that becomes an issue down the road.
Anyway, I’m back now, so let’s just move on to the Chargers-Pats live blog.
7-Year-Old Boy Possesses More Fight Than Seahawks
The Wisconsin State Journal reported today on a Green Bay Packers fan who was issued a citation for disorderly conduct after physically restraining his 7-year-old son and forcing him to wear a Packers jersey during Green Bay’s 42-20 trouncing of the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday afternoon.
You Cannot Stop Randy Moss, You Can Only Hope To Restrain Him

Randy Moss has managed to establish quite a career for himself by upstaging NFL cornerbacks. He may have done it again — this time, with off-field issues.
On the same day that Titans cornerback Pacman Jones was accused of sucker punching a female attorney while at a strip club in Atlanta, Moss has allegedly been hit with a restraining order for dating violence, according to a WDBO Radio report (the story has since disappeared from its Web site, but the apparent case summary remains posted here).
